Hello, I’m Kim Bogart, your Democratic candidate for Pasco County Sheriff. Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

I have dedicated my life to fighting for community safety and criminal justice. With over 29 years experience in law enforcement and management, I am a committed leader in fighting for safer communities and bringing law and order to Pasco County. Like you, I am deeply concerned about the leadership and direction of our Sheriff's Office when robberies are on a sharp increase - 98% - despite the fact our population has only grown by 7.4 over the last two years. New 2007 statistics from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement also reveal that total violent crime in Pasco County is up 23% in the last two years. We see steady increases in robberies, burglaries and vehicle thefts. We can do better and that's why I'm running for Pasco County Sheriff.

I have the best experience and a responsible plan to lead us to better times ahead. When you look at my record, you will see a lifetime of law enforcement experience. When it comes to enforcing the law and keeping us safe, I have done it, supervised it, or professionally advised Police Departments and Sheriff’s Offices on how to do it better.

Pasco County faces serious crime issues that affect our quality of life. The year 2005-2007 saw a 21% increase in overall reported crimes, and the Sheriff's Office lost focus on gangs and associated drug activities. To make matters worse, the current Sheriff recently shut down the crime prevention unit. This is not the way to lead a Sheriff's Office, and I know how we can do better. I have a long-term vision for how we reinvest in our Sheriff's Office so it can better serve us all.

I am the candidate with the best judgment and best experience to provide Pasco County residents with a more effective Sheriff’s Office that is committed to making our community safer. This is not the time for novices or on the job training. This is the time to put Pasco County neighborhoods and businesses on the right track to safer communities.
